I would like to thank the Northern Great Dane Club for the offer to judge their Ch show, although not the biggest of entries thank you all for entering, it was a well-run and an enjoyable day, thank you. My apologies for the delay in sending the critique, computers….!!!!
Class1. Minor Puppy Dog. 3 entries 0 Abs
1st Jacques & Kirby’s JACQUKIR NO REGRETS
7 mth old dog, what a lovely baby fawn, so much promise, head is developing well, it has good length and width, correct eye and ear set, a long well arched neck running into well made shoulders with correct angulation, deep chest for his age well sprung ribs, correct topline and croup all shown in his lovely movement. BPD and BPIS well done.
2nd Lawson’s CREEK DANES OUT OF THE DARKNESS AT DROOLAKISS (IMP USA) NAF TAF
8 mth old, a lovely blue, so many remarks are the same as 1, these two will change places many times, hard to choose between them, he has a very promising head, correct angulation fore and aft showing his correct movement, one to watch.

9 mth old dog, at the lovely leggy stage, a sweet boy, a promising head with a good neck, and level topline, angles fore and aft were ok and he moved ok, needs more time to mature into his frame.

17mth, loved his dark brindle colour, it wasn’t a popular colour when I had mine 40 years ago but liked so much more these days, an extremely good youngster who I believe has achieved great heights since I judged him, he shows huge promise for the future, a correct head with ex length and width throughout, long neck running into a good forehand, good topline and hindquarters, moved extremely well.
2nd Young’s LOMONDANE DINNAE BOTHER
17 mth old, he had a lovely outline, a promising head on a lovely neck running into good forequarters, good rear angulations with a lovely croup, moved very well.

22 mths old, another youngster with promise, he had a lovely long head with good planes and balance of foreface and backskull, long neck running into a lovely front, good body all through and a nice croup, movement was ok just not converging as much as I would like behind.

18mth old, a very nice fawn, he was well angulated fore and aft, with a lovely depth in front, long neck and a correct head, correct topline and nice croup angle, he moved very well.

1st Barnett’s DAINOAK DREAMS OF BLUE AT DREAMDIAMONT
Just under 3 yrs, nice colour blue, correct head with a shorter length of foreface, ex well arched neck, running into good forequarter angles, correct depth of chest, good topline, moved very well all round.

1st Thurlby’s SANTANNA SPECIAL LEGACY AT JUSTINIAN (IKC)
Just under 3 yrs, a lovely fawn, coming to peak maturity, ex head with good planes and width throughout, slightly shorter muzzle, good ear carriage and correct eye, correct well angled forequarter with ex depth of chest reaching the elbow, strong topline and loin, powerful muscular hindquarters that really moved him round the ring, pleased to be able to award him the RCC.
2nd Dyson’s SAMDICE NOBODY DOES IT BETTA (AI)
Just under 3 yrs, very nice brindle, correct head with good balance of back skull and foreface, correct eye and ear set, long neck running into a strong topline, good front angles and a strong ex rear, moved soundly all round.

Just under 3 yrs. I see litter brother to 2nd in previous class, not as mature as his brother yet, slightly long and leggy at this stage, needs to settle more on the move, had a nicely balanced head with lots of promise.

1st Tempest’s ADOREADANE SUMMER SUNSHINE
Just over 3 yrs, a dog I saw as a puppy, my how he has matured, strong head, ex long neck running into well laid-back shoulders and a strong topline, good hindquarter giving him excellent movement, a really ground covering length of stride.

1st Burton’s RAVENDANE DEAL ME IN WITH ELBAREVOL
Just over 5 yrs. Another one I judged as a youngster, he has come on so well, he has a lovely head with correct planes and good width and length throughout, well angulated forequarters, deep chest with a good ribcage, good topline and croup , well angulated behind, moved well.
2nd Smith’s CHANOZ TAILOR MADE FOR LAMBRINI
14 mths. A very promising head with good balance and width, lovely neck, good shoulder layback, his age was against him here, he looked so raw compared with 1, moved ok just needs more time to mature.

1st Chappell’s SELMALDA RICOCHET (AI)
Just under 3 yrs, what an amazing dam from this breeder, she has produced so much quality in her offspring. This boy was Super, his lovely long head of correct width and balance, carried by a perfectly arched neck which ran into excellent shoulder layback and something so lacking these days a good length and layback of upper arm, correct depth and spring of rib, strong loin and balanced angulation of the rear, all coming together in his flowing powerful movement. Delighted to award him the DCC and RBIS. An addition here was for the BIS decision, gee. Same mother as my dog and I fell for her straight away, loved her…..
2nd Donnelly & Toohey PRIMUS BREAKIN RULES
3 yrs + another nice young male with lots of breed type, a stronger head than 1 on a lovely neck, a well angulated shoulder and upperarm, running into a good topline and croup, correct rear hindquarters, moved well from all angles.

Another quality bitch with good overall shape, clean head and ear set with well arched neck into good good depth of chest, straight front and cat like feet. Level topline held on the move.
